Can you interview someone who doesn't want to talk?
Often, yes. A lot of people who refuse initially are willing to talk with the right approach — one that respects their position, doesn't pressure them, and gives them room. We can't force anyone, but we can give the interview its best chance.
Do you record interviews?
When appropriate and lawful. Recording decisions depend on the jurisdiction, the relationship, and what the interview is for. We discuss recording strategy during planning.
How do you handle interviews with traumatized victims?
With patience and structure. Trauma affects memory, recall, and what someone can share in a single sitting. We approach victim interviews with an understanding of those dynamics — not with a checklist of questions to get through.
Can you interview hostile subjects or opposing parties?
Yes. These interviews require a different approach — more structure, more preparation, and a clear understanding of what can and can't be obtained. We assess what's realistic before we begin.
Are your interview statements admissible?
That depends on the jurisdiction, the matter, and how the statement is used. We document interviews professionally and lawfully. Admissibility is ultimately a legal question for the attorney handling the matter.
